XP-Freu(n)de – Mondscheinkinder

Xeroderma pigmentosum, or XP for short, is a very rare hereditary skin disease.

Moonlight children

As a result, those affected must consistently protect themselves from UV radiation. Even small amounts of UV rays are harmful and can lead to malignant skin changes on areas of the body exposed to the sun as early as childhood.

In the past, those affected had to shift their day/night rhythm, giving rise to the name "moonlight children". Today, there are aids and a good network of sufferers. "XP-Freu(n)de" provides uncomplicated help and support for those affected and their relatives: "Back into the light together!"
