2024: Animal-assisted education for children in difficult situations

The SOS Children's Village has been committed to offering children in challenging life situations a sense of security and support for many years. Our donation of €10,000 will help to further expand the animal-assisted education project.

Animal-assisted education plays an important role for children who have had stressful bonding experiences in the past. Contact with animals enables them to build emotional bonds and gain trust in a safe environment. Children who have difficulties with closeness and distance or who are dealing with experiences of abuse in particular benefit from this gentle support. Children who are tired of therapy are also motivated by the animals and experience valuable moments in which they can interact actively and independently.

We are proud to support the SOS Children's Village Saar in its important work and to help children in difficult life situations to find new perspectives and hope.

2020

The German SOS Children's Villages Association has been committed to the welfare of children, young people and families since 1955 - both in Germany and worldwide. In addition to the SOS Children's Villages, many other SOS services for children, young people and families have been established over the years.

Children and young people who can no longer grow up in their biological families find a new home thanks to the services offered by SOS Children's Villages.

In day care centers, SOS Children's Villages supports children in developing their own potential. The staff at the counseling services advise and help children, young people and families with a wide range of questions, problems and crises. Parents and children find support in the mothers' centers and multi-generation houses. The SOS village communities offer people with disabilities a place to live and work.

Donation gala 2018 (playing at home)

The "Playing at home" project supports families who do not make use of daycare or daycare centers. They learn about the learning opportunities offered by playing together. These experiences help to promote the child's development.
