When a child falls seriously ill, is born prematurely or is born chronically ill, the entire family life is affected. In addition to the great concern for the affected child, parents and siblings experience a difficult and very stressful time.
"This is where our project of outreach, family-oriented socio-medical aftercare comes in on the way to integrating the sick child back into the family. Our multi-professional and highly committed team of staff at the Bunte Kreis Ennepe-Ruhr under the auspices of Pro Kid e. V. is well networked with all regional forms of help and providers. A multi-professional team answers questions, comforts, initiates contact with the necessary support measures and helps with official procedures."
The individual support needs of the affected families are assessed during the hospital stay, the necessary measures are planned and implementation is coordinated so that the necessary professions can begin immediately upon the child's discharge. In this way, it can be seen as helping the families to help themselves and helps to show them long-term prospects for their new everyday lives.
