There are currently 400 young people living at CJD Homburg/Saar gGmbH. 20.68% of these young people have a physical disability, 63.22% have a mental disability and 16.09% have a learning disability. In addition, 38 unaccompanied foreign minors live at CJD Homburg.
For many years, the CJD Homburg/Saar gGmbH has been very involved in the field of sports, health education and education for people with disabilities and participates in many events and offers in Saarland and nationwide. The CJD organizes the South-West German Football Championships for Vocational Training Centers and the Fohlenhof Run, and integration through sport is becoming increasingly important in the current social situation. Particularly when working with children, young people and people with a migration background, it is clear that any language barriers, tensions and fears can be better overcome through joint sporting activities.
"Our "Integration and inclusion through sport" project makes it easier for our young people to participate, because nowhere are prejudices and barriers broken down more quickly than when disabled and non-disabled people and/or people with a migrant background play sport together. To this end, a space for joint sporting activities and the procurement of sports equipment and utensils are planned. A total of €28,000 is needed to implement and successfully carry out the projects and measures. With the proWIN Foundation's contribution to support our project "Integration and inclusion through sport", we have already come a big step closer to our goal. Thank you very much!"
