The Kinderachsorgeklinik Berlin Brandenburg has been a rehabilitation facility recognized by the German Pension Insurance and health insurance companies since 2009. It is one of only five clinics in Germany that work according to the concept of family-oriented rehabilitation (FOR) - and it is the only one of its kind in the new federal states.
The non-profit children's aftercare clinic supports affected families in coping with their fate together as a family. As part of family-oriented rehabilitation (FOR), families whose child is suffering from cancer or has a serious heart condition receive what is important after the stressful acute treatment: a treatment concept that involves the entire family, strengthens existing resources and provides physical and psychological support for the everyday life that follows. Each family receives comprehensive and holistic medical, psychological and physiotherapeutic care in the comfort of the clinic.
In addition to medical care, occupational, physiotherapy, psychotherapy, art, riding and music therapy and the use of the swimming pool and sports hall, the aftercare clinic offers young patients and their family members a wide range of leisure activities tailored to the respective age group, as well as daycare and school care. In addition, the aftercare clinic also offers this family-oriented treatment concept for orphaned families. Families who have lost their child due to a chronic illness or an accident receive comprehensive psycho-therapeutic support in a protected environment.
