The Catholic family education center "Haus der Familie" Merzig e. V., the Caritasverband Saar-Hochwald e. V. and the youth in the Merzig deanery jointly run a vacation camp for children aged 6 to 11 whose parents cannot afford a vacation.
The focus is on a nature education approach with elements of confidence-building measures, social skills and building self-esteem. The vacation camp will take place in the 3rd week of the 2018 summer holidays in Beckingen-Düppenweiler in the Hüttersdorferwald forest. From Monday to Friday from 10:00 - 16:00, various activities will be carried out with the children in nature (e.g. building an insect hotel, building a shelter together in the forest, etc.). Various types of fruit and water will be provided for the children. If a child does not bring (or cannot bring) food.
