Mathilda is a bright, cheerful girl who doesn't even begin to realize what a handicap she has. The only thing she realizes at just under 14 months is that she doesn't walk as well as she would like. This is because she was born with bilateral fibular aplasia. This is a very rare skeletal dysplasia and refers to the absence of the fibula bones. She also has a shortening of all long bones.
Mathilda will be operated on by Dr. Paley in Poland/Warsaw in January 2020. Dr. Paley is an American specialist who specializes in such rare and complex clinical pictures.
"Unfortunately, we have to finance the entire costs from our own funds. We are therefore grateful for every donation and would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere thanks to proWIN!"
