Förderkreis der Schule für Gehörlose und Schwerhörige e.V.
In February 2025, we supported the Ruth-Schaumann-Schule für Gehörlose und Schwerhörige e.V. with a donation of 1,000 euros.
The school is actively committed to making German Sign Language (DGS) and the finger alphabet more widely known and breaking down barriers for deaf and hard of hearing people.
Student company wins prize for social commitment
A particular highlight was the students' participation in a trade fair where they presented the finger alphabet and sign language to generate interest and ensure greater accessibility - this was awarded the first prize for social commitment.

The finger alphabet and DGS are crucial for inclusion as they enable deaf and hard of hearing people to communicate with hearing people and participate in social life. Learning these forms of communication contributes to genuine participation, self-determination and empowerment. Inclusion can only succeed if all people can participate equally, regardless of their abilities.
Our support for the Förderkreis der Schule für Gehörlose und Schwerhörige e.V.
With our funding, we want to help raise awareness of the importance of sign language and encourage more people to learn the finger alphabet. Every change, no matter how small, contributes to a more inclusive society in which everyone can communicate with each other on an equal footing. We hope that our donation will help to drive the project forward and reach many people.
