This award, which is presented for special services to humanitarian aid, is comparable in importance to the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany.
With a donation of 10,000 euros, the proWIN Foundation supported the Malteser International Service in its work in Ukraine in 2022. This contribution enabled four large trucks with a total of around 100 tons of relief supplies to be financed and sent on their way, including urgently needed medical and everyday supplies for the regions affected by the war.
Malteser International Service, which celebrates its 60th anniversary next year, has been involved in international disaster relief for decades and has maintained close relations in Eastern Europe since 1989. Since the beginning of the war in 2022, support has been further intensified with aid transports, vehicle purchases and continuous exchange with local partners on the ground.
